Temovate
Temovate is a topical corticosteroid used to treat skin conditions such as a rash.

How Drug Works
Temovate blocks the release of certain chemicals that cause inflammation.
How Taken
Before applying Temovate, you should wash and dry the affected areas. Gently rub Temovate sparingly onto the affected areas, until it is evenly distributed. Do not cover or bandage the skin area after applying the cream or ointment. Follow your doctors directions with Temovate.
Possible Side Effects
Side effects with Temovate are minimal. These include:
- redness
- swelling
- blistering of the skin
Warnings/Precautions
Do NOT use Temovate for other skin conditions until you talk to your doctor or pharmacist. Before starting this medication, notify your doctor if you have:
- Cataracts or glaucoma
- Diabetes mellitus (sugar diabetes)
- Infections
- Tuberculosis
- Skin conditions that cause thinning of the skin or easy bruising
Avoid contact with your eyes, mouth or the inside of your nose. If your symptoms Do NOT improve or get worse, contact your doctor.
Overdose
For emergencies, seek medical attention immediately. For non emergencies, contact your local or regional poison control center at 1-800-222-1222.
Drug Interactions
There are no significant interactions with Temovate. Before starting any new medication, talk to your doctor or pharmacist about possible drug interactions.
Missed Dose
Take your next dose as soon as you remember. If it is time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double doses.
Storage
Store it at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Keep this medication in the container it came in, tightly closed, and out of reach of children. Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed.
Pregnancy/Nursing
There are no well controlled studies with the use of topical corticosteroids in pregnancy. Talk to your doctor about using Temovate during pregnancy. It is not known whether Temovate is excreted in breast milk. Again it is advised to talk to your doctor before breastfeeding to discuss any possible risks to you baby.
